LG launches the G6 in the UAE for AED 2,599

LG announced the launch of the G6, it’s new flagship,  at a press event in Dubai today. Launched at MWC, the LG features a 5.7 inch QHD+ (2,880 x 1,440) display with an 18:9 screen ratio, Snapdragon 821 processor, 4GB of RAM, Dual 13MP Cameras, and a 3,300 man battery.

The phone’s most standout feature is its tall screen. LG has customized its OS to leverage the 18:9 aspect ratio screen. LG says the new screen offers more viewing space and a more immersive experience when watching media or playing games. The camera features a ‘Square’ feature which devices the camera into two halves, letting users take photos suited for Instagram, Snapchat and other social apps. The screen also features HDR and Dolby vision (the first phone to do so) that allows greater range in color and black. The rounded corners on the screen are a nice touch.

The G6 is water and dust resistant, certified IP68, which means it can be immersed in up to 1.5m of water for 30 minutes. It is available in 3 colors: Astro Black, Ice Platinum, and Mystic White. We were also able to get our hands on the phone for a short time. Check the embedded video below:
