Apple announces new iPad starting at AED1,299
Apple just announced a new iPad and it’s just called iPad. It’s the same 9.7″ tablet form factor that it essentially replaces the iPad Air 2. It’s even cheaper. Starting at AED1299 for the 32GB version.
That leaves Apple with essentially two versions of iPad moving forward – iPad and iPad Pro. Both the categories have a miniature version. It’s indeed a simpler branding and one that makes sense. The iPad Air was thin and light for when it was announced and today almost every tablet including Apple’s iPad Pro has caught up to Air’s mark.
So what does the AED1299 get you? A brighter 9.7″ retina display, Apple’s A9 64bit processor, 10 hours battery life and all the pros and cons of the iOS ecosystem. It even comes with a headphone jack. The base version is Wi-Fi only. If you want the 32GB with LTE, that will cost you AED1799.
Here is how much they cost:
Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing said: “iPad is the world’s most popular tablet. Customers love the large, 9.7-inch display for everything from watching TV and movies, to surfing the web and enjoying photos, and now it is even more affordable. New customers and anyone looking to upgrade will love this new iPad for use at home, in school, and for work, with its gorgeous Retina display, our powerful A9 chip, and access to the more than 1.3 million apps designed specifically for it.”
You can order the new iPad on Friday, March 24th from Apple.com/ae and expect delivery and availability in the Apple Store next week.
Apple has also lowered the price of the iPad mini 4 offering the 128GB WIFI model for AED1,599 and 128GB WIFI+LTE for AED2,099.
