Tesla is setting up a service centre in UAE
Electric Car enthusiasts in Dubai, get excited! Tesla is opening up a Service Center in Dubai, UAE. According to job postings on LinkedIn, Tesla is looking to hire for at least 3 positions including Service Manager, Service Advisor and Service Technician in Dubai. Given that all three roles are service related and technical in nature, there is no evidence to suggest that there may be a sales arm opening up. However, we’re sitting with our fingers crossed in the hope that this is the first step towards that.
Many Tesla Model S cars have been spotted on the roads of Dubai and Abu Dhabi already and there’s talk in forums about a Whatsapp group for Tesla owners in the UAE. Many of these cars may have been at the Emirates Electrical Vehicle Road Trip (EVRT) which took place across the UAE.
It’s likely that all cars currently on the roads of Dubai and UAE have been imported from the US. There has always been concern about servicing these vehicles. Opening up a service will certainly help alleiviate these concerns and increase the number of Tesla cars we see on the road.
Update: So looks like a full-scale Tesla launch is imminent in UAE. Tesla is hosting an event on the 13th of February in Dubai and there’s rumblings about two showrooms opening up, one each in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
