DJI Osmo Mobile Gimbal Review

You’re out and about on the go and see something that you would like to capture or record. What device do you take out first? Your Camera, and most probably your smartphone camera. Smartphone camera cannot be compared with a DSLR or even a good point n shoot camera for that matter. But it can be a worthy substitute. Okay so, now that the intro to this blog is established with which you can relate you. Let us bring in the Gimbal. DJI Osmo Mobile.

“DJI continues to revolutionize the way we capture and share memories. The Osmo Mobile combines the best of DJI’s beloved Osmo smart stabilization technology with the robust DJI GO app. This is a breakthrough, allowing smartphone users unprecedented control of and creative possibilities for their devices.” – Frank Wang, DJI CEO and founder

Different modes
While shooting is partly dependent on the DJI Go app, the handle does offer controls for shooting, changing modes, and flipping between the front and rear cameras. Advanced settings like ISO and shutter speed can be accessed via the iPhone’s touchscreen.
The Osmo Mobile’s 3-axis gimbal system smooths out the movements you make, turning every shot into a cinematic video. The Osmo Mobile lets you share special moments in real time using YouTube Live inside the DJI GO app.The panorama function automatically captures and blends 9 separate photos together to create one stunning photo.Enjoy more than just DJI GO. Osmo Mobile is open for developers to customize. ActiveTrack technology built into the DJI GO app allows the Osmo Mobile to automatically keep your smartphone facing you as you move. With a few taps, the Osmo Mobile motion time-lapse feature shoots the video showing the passing of time. Shoot better photos in low light, with excellent camera stabilization and full manual camera control. Used with its range of accessories, the Osmo Mobile can be mounted almost anywhere, giving you, even more, opportunities to get that perfect shot.

This thing is much better than expected. I wanted the mobile gimbal for times when it was more convenient to use the iPhone for video. Given the quality of video from the iPhone 7 Plus which is sufficient for my use at 4K and the immense usefulness of the OSM Mobile. Using the Mobile is easy – it connects to the phone via Bluetooth straight away (OSMO camera uses WiFi, which can take the time to join and also means you have to take your phone off wifi internet connection. It seems easier to operate and works perfectly with the phone. One important thing: definitely balance your mobile phone in the carrier before switching it on. Do this, and the gimbal and stabilizer work correctly from the get-go.
