Honor 6X available in UAE and Saudi Arabia from January 4 for AED 919

Honor announced its newest phone, the Honor 6X, at CES 2017. The phone will be available in UAE and Saudi Arabia starting the 4th of January and priced at AED 919.

The local version of the phone features 3GB RAM with 32GB storage and the international one features 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. However, users can expand the storage further with a microSD card and the phone also features dual-SIM capabilities.

The standout feature of the phone is its dual-camera setup of 12MP and 2MP sensors. With the dual camera setup, the Honor 6X can create low depth of field shots that simulate a wide aperture of f/0.95. This is like what we’ve seen on the iPhone 7 Plus Portrait mode and the feature is already available on other Huawei devices such as the Mate 9. Users can also refocus the picture after they have shot and selecting apertures from f/0.95 to f/16. Honor is also placing a great emphasis on software features by including filters such as radial blur and color splash. This is in an attempt to encourage users to share pictures on social media. The front camera on the Honor 6X has an 8MP sensor.

The device features Huawei’s midrange Kirin 655 processor which is an 8 core processor with 4 cores clocked at 2.1GHz and 4 at 1.7GHz. Adorning the front of the device is a 5.5-inch full-HD display with a pixel density of 403 ppi.

Finally, the new Honor 6X also sees a bump in the battery size by 10%, with a size of 3340mAh. Honor says the battery life delivered will be much longer, though, as much as 2.15 days, as they’ve made optimizations on both the software and hardware end. These optimizations will continue into the future as Honor upgrades the OS to 7.0 in Q2 2017.

It’s most competitive feature is its price point. At AED 919, the Honor 6X delivers a lot of bang for very few bucks.

We have a very short hands-on with the phone available here
