Superstore is an online hypermarket, set to make grocery shopping easier. recently invested in InstaShop a grocery delivery application that lets your order grocery and get it delivered in 30 minutes. This is slightly different from a competing service elGrocer that partners with stores around instead of handling delivery themselves. Both these services offer almost instant delivery under 2 hours.

The Superstore is aimed at consumers who buy majority of their grocery in advanced while catering to safer essential items. “SOUQ Superstore is well suited for consumers looking to stock-up on household items ensuring they never run out of essentials” is what said.

souq-com-superstore’s Superstore has six categories – Food & Grocery, Health & Beauty, Household Needs, Pet care, Nutrition & Suppliment and Baby care & food. SOUQ also plans to introduce an Organic section, a Chocolate section and ‘Food of the world’ section.

Naturally, SOUQ will house items from popular brands such as P&G, Nestle, PepsoCo, Unilever, Henkel, Reckitt Benckiser, Marsk, L’Oreal, Johnson & Johnson, Nivea and others. In short every day-to-day items in hypermarkets will be available at SOUQ Superstore.

Initial countries are UAE, Egypt and Saudi Arabia

The news comes just after a competing e-commerce platform launched yesterday.  Initial market for Superstore is impressively not just delivering to UAE. Egypt and Saudi Arabia will also be able to order groceries with Superstore.

According to, growth in online grocery shopping has increased to 34% this year since 21% last year in 2015. This is according to a recent study by Morgan Stanley.
