Uber launches UberEATS in Dubai

Now your Uber app can feed you. Uber is launching UberEATS, its food delivery service, in Dubai on Thursday 29th September. Users will be able to pick meals from a whole host of restaurants including Gustronomy, Taqado, BurgerFuel, The Hummingbird Bakery and Sushi Art. The service will be available from 11 AM to 11 PM on weekdays and until 5 AM over the weekend, beginning this Friday.

Jambu Palaniappan, UberEATS EMEA Head, says: “Bringing UberEATS to the UAE was a no-brainer for us. Dubai has become a culinary powerhouse in recent years, with an average of four new restaurants opening every day.”

The service started in Toronto and has since expanded to over 30 cities globally with Dubai being the 32nd. UberEATS isn’t the first food delivery service in the city, though. Deliveroo has been operating in Dubai since last year, as has Zomato Order, which doesn’t have its own fleet, but offers a platform for restaurants to list their menu and deliver orders directly.
