Supercharge your smartphone with Oppo’s Super VOOC
A #FirstWorldProblem experienced by smartphone users worldwide – running out of power on their smartphones. Even worse, they want to have them full charged in the shortest time possible. Many smartphone makers have been taking big strides in improving this process, but looks like Oppo may take the crown.
On the second day of Mobile World Congress 2016, Oppo officially unveiled their new Super VOOC Flash Charge technology that looks to take a smartphone battery from 0% to 100% in 15 minutes. Sounds unbelievable? We’ve managed to record a quick live demo from their booth at MWC 2016. As Oppo has full control over the hardware and software, it’s evident that they were able to squeeze out even more performance when it comes to battery optimizations.
Super VOOC Flash Charge works on a low-voltage pulse-charge system. Combined with OPPO’s customized battery, this would dynamically regulate the current to the phone. This keeps the system safe and sustainable, preventing overheating that many would feel with their devices. That means the smartphone can safely be used during the charging process, as that’s usually when the devices heat up during the charging process. The new charging technology will work over micro-USB and USB Type-C cables.
The new recharging technology will make its way into new OPPO smartphones that will hit the market later this year. As Oppo smartphones are already available in the UAE (soon to expand to more Middle East markets), we could see this new tech sooner than expected.
