Apple launches new iPod touch from AED799
Apple’s entry in the music industry started with the iPod in 2001 (14 years ago). Today after a considerable gap in iPod history, Apple introduces a new iPod touch which is faster, more colorful and starts just from AED 799.
With Apple Music launch in Saudi Arabia, UAE, Oman and Bahrain just 2 weeks back, the new iPod touch launch makes sense. The new iPod touch will come in colors: Space Grey, Silver, Gold, Pink and Blue. It will have an updated A8 processor, an 8 Mega-Pixel Rear iSight camera, and an “improved” FaceTime HD camera at the front. The A8 processor gives the new iPod up to 10 times better graphics performance. Apple Music’s Beats1 Radio is still not working in the region however.
“A cost effective way to Apple Music”
The new iPod also has Apple’s Motion processor, M8 that provides improved fitness tracking. Both the M8 and the A8 processors are found on the iPhone. the new iPod has the same guts as the iPhone 6 and is priced is almost one-third. The new iPod has a 4-inch Retina display at 1136×640 resolution with three times faster WiFi built in. Obviously the new iPod gives you access to the vast iOS apps and with the latest processor, it is sure to run all of them pretty well. The new iPod touch comes with iOS8 and an update to iOS9 will be free this fall.
“iPod touch gives customers around the world access to Apple Music, the App Store and iOS, the world’s most advanced mobile operating system, starting at just AED 799,” said Greg Joswiak, Apple’s vice president of iPhone, iPod and iOS Product Marketing. “With big advancements like the A8 chip and the 8 megapixel iSight camera, customers can experience next-level gameplay, take even more beautiful photos and enjoy their favourite music, TV shows and movies.”
If you thought mp3 players are coming back with Sony, Apple is also announced its (PRODUCT)RED lineup of iPod touch.
The new Apple iPod is priced at AED799 for the 16GB model, AED999 for the 32 GB model, and AED1,199 for the 64GB model. For the first time, an iPod touch will be available in 128GB which is regionally priced at AED1,599.
