New Sony Action Cam models in the Middle East

Filming first-person POV (point-of-view) videos has become the new extreme obsession. The segment is receiving many new gadgets that seek to push the limits while maintaining a lighter and smaller form-factor. Not resting on its laurels after its recent use on an eagle flying from the top of Burj Khalifa, Sony decided to further take its Action Cam range with the launch of 2 new models – the 4K FDR-X1000V and HDR-AS200V – in the Middle East.

What makes these new models catch our eye? It’s not just a slightly updated look, but also newer internals inside them.

Sony’s Action Cam specs

We previously covered the Sony Action Cam HDR-AZ1VR, and looks like these new models have upped their internal specs to make videos stand out even better. The 4K revolution is slowly hitting us, and the new FDR-X1000V looks to tap in to the potential hunger cravings for action videos in 4K. HD has already become a standard, and Sony hasn’t ignored it with the wide available of compatible and supported devices in the market.

Stereo microphones on both models come with Wind Noise Reduction, helping to avoid drowning out any conversation chatter and ambient noise for your videos. If you’re anticipating your path to be very rock that makes your video shaky, both of the new Sony Action Cam models come with Advanced SteadyShot tech to help iron out shakes and bumps – regardless of where you’ve mounted the camera.

WiFi is standard across both models, allowing you to use the Live-View Remote to view your recorded footage. You can even use the PlayMemories mobile app on your iOS and/or Android device to connect and control either Sony Action Cam models.

Wondering what else is under that reinforced sealed chassis? We’ve put together the specs table below.
