Wally wins best startup at MAKE Ignition

Wally, a personal finance mobile application won the best startup award at a showcase held at MAKE Ignition. The application competed with four other startups – Restronaut, MeetingGlove, and KISS. The application has been co-founded by Saeid Hejazi (of Nahel.com), Baher Al Hakim (of Cloudappers), and Makram Saleh (of Napkin) and has recorded over 14,000 downloads already on iOS.

The application allows users to record, categorize and review their spends in a variety of currencies and is available for free on the App Store. What is perhaps most impressive is its InstaScan feature which lets you scan a receipt which then captures all the relevant information and saves it for you There is an Android version in the works but it is at least a few months away. Wally aims to make money in the future by rolling out premium features to a paying audience.
